Gravity® Soles provides secure grip

Ironsteel Footwear use proprietary Gravity® soles that include technology and way of construction that are perfectly suited to the characteristics of the footwear. With the inclusion of Gravity® soles, the safety footwear is in many areas comparable to sports-shoes where low weight, shock absorption, comfort and good design are in focus. The Gravity® soles are built with a durable, energy-absorbing and lightweight Phylon midsole that provides good properties against shock. The midsole is sitting on top of a specially designed rubber outsole. These alternative outsoles have grip patterns adapted to the work areas the shoes are intended for.

All Gravity® soles have the highest degree of slip resistance according to the norm, and they are all oil and heat resistant.

Different Gravity® soles are used in the shoe program depending on the target group and expected use. Information about which outsole is used for each model can be found under the specifications in the product program.

  • Gravity® IS088 G-sport III - 193 grams (size 42)
This is a compact and sporty sole that is suitable for areas where there is a need for lightweight and energy-absorbing products. G-Sport III is just as great outdoors in the colder Nordic seasons as it is all year round on surfaces typically found in warehouses, workshops, etc.
  • Gravity® IS040 G-III - 235 grams (size 42)
This is a very stable and versatile sole with a good grip-pattern that makes it suitable on a variety of surfaces throughout the year, including winter conditions. The sole works well for those who have various tasks both indoors and outdoors and that operates on varying surfaces.
  • Gravity® IS073 IPR - 246 grams (size 42)
This is an innovative sole with the unique energy-absorbing material IP (Injection Phylon) in the midsole. The IP material retains its properties and construction throughout the sole's life without "puncturing". The sole is well suited to all hard surfaces, and some describe the sole as "like walking on clouds".
  • Gravity® IS100 BUMP - 230 grams (size 42)
This is another sole with the unique energy-absorbing material IP (Injection Phylon) in the midsole. "Bump" is, like many of today's most popular sports shoes, "oversized" in design and construction. The midsole includes more IP versus the IPR sole, which provides additional shock-absorbing properties and for many higher comfort. The fact that the sole also brings an extra sporty expression to the shoe's design is something many appreciate.
  • Gravity® IS078 TRX-III - 269 grams (size 42)
This is a durable and powerful sole with a pattern that provides a very strong grip. Unique to the sole is the "trunk-construction" in the front which is an integrated part of the sole itself. This provides extra wear resistance in the front and is an advantage for anyone who has work tasks that lead to extra wear in the front of the shoes. Gravity® TRX III comes also in a combination with "Ice-Grip" on some of the Ironsteel models. "Ice-Grip" as part of the outer sole provides extra safety for those who move on slippery surfaces such as some winter conditions.

Above is a model presenting how the Gravity® soles are constructed - from bottom to top. These cemented construction principles are the same for all Gravity soles. Shown is the TRX-III with its grip-side as well as the reversed side. The next "layer" is the lightweight Phylon midsole including shank and an integrated construction to ensure antistatic properties. Above this, a non-metallic anti-penetration sole that protects the user against sharp objects. The removable shock absorbing footbed incl. Poron® provides cushioning and comfort. The toe cap in either aluminum or composite depending on the model, protects the user and is specially adapted to each Gravity® sole to provide optimal fit and resistance to e.g. falling objects.
